The Hetairoi is a heavy escort, pushing the upper weight limits of the class. The vessel was introduced in AE60 in response to general unrest in the outer rim worlds and increasing casualties of the merchant fleet. Unfortunately, Ships of the Line could not be spared from the front, and so the Hetairoi was born – a heavily armoured weapons platform boasting Mk3 guns on each flank. They were deployed to escort convoys of lumbering super-freighters.
